Vorres Museum

The first section presents examples of contemporary Greek art - paintings and sculptures by leading Greek artists of the second half of the 20th century. The paintings and sculptures in the Vorres collection represent some of their most mature and best works. There are also works by Greek artists living abroad.

The second section includes a group of 4 traditional village houses of the early 19th century, as well as items of peasant life, Greek carpets, ceramics, icons, furniture and antiques. The whole complex of the museum tries to convince modern Greeks to preserve their traditional cultural heritage. It took 40 years to assemble the museum collection, which is considered one of the most beautiful and original in the world.
