War Museum

Greece, Athens

About the company:

Today, the museum, officially opened in 1975, is one of the city's most famous buildings, thanks to its unusual shape in the eclectic style of late modernism of the late 50s.

The idea of the museum was created in 1964 to commemorate all those who fought for the freedom of Greece.

The museum exhibits a collection of weapons (from the Stone Age and antiquity to the Second World War), as well as warplanes, maps, flags, military uniforms, models of military ships and aircraft, opening before your eyes a panorama of Greek history.

The museum has a rich library, the entrance to which is located in a courtyard with several standing military aircraft and a photo archive with more than 20,000 photographs depicting the history of the Greek armed forces.
