Byzantine Christian Museum
About the company:
The Byzantine Christian Museum was founded in 1914, when its unique collection began to form. The grand opening for a wide range of public took place in 1923. The initiator of the museum was the Christian Archaeological Commission headed by director Adamandio Adamandio. The collections collected by the representatives of the Commission were gradually enriched and grew not only due to the acquired exhibits and donations of individuals. In addition, enthusiasts collected relics originating from numerous Greek monasteries as well as Greek communities abroad. All these items are cozy located in the National Archaeological Hall of the museum.
The exposition includes sculptures, paintings, works of miniature painting, ceramics and textiles, ancient manuscripts, drawings and engravings, ancient books, as well as copies of Byzantine and Late Byzantine mosaics and frescoes.
