Lake Qurna

Lake Kurnas is located near the village of Kurnas. Because it is fresh water, it is protected by the Natura 2000 program. It does not dry out even in the hottest summer. Around the lake are high mountains and olive trees.

Here you can relax, relax, swim in clean water (depth 23 meters), feed fish and turtles, rent a boat and enjoy the beauty of amazing nature. The water has a bright turquoise color. A walk around the lake will take about an hour. The circumference of the reservoir is 3.5 kilometers. Near the lake there are several small beaches with white soft sand. There are no sun loungers and umbrellas, but you can hide from the sun in the shade of trees. On the lake there are cafes and restaurants where you can taste local cuisine.

You can get there by rented car, bus or taxi from the village of Georgiupoli, Chania, Rethymno.
