Museum of printing
Industrial Park of Chania, 13-03, Crete, Greece
About the company:
The Museum of Printing in Crete was created by the founder and editor of the newspaper John Garedakis. This unusual exposition is a reflection of his worldview and attitude.
The museum opened its doors in 2005. In his collection are complex printing machines, equipment and devices that make possible the appearance of printed texts. From the exhibits collected here, you can trace the history and evolution of the printing process from the time of Gutenberg (who created a method of printing in movable letters in the 15th century) to the present day. Also in the collection - rare books, newspapers, other valuable prints. And on exhibits such as old typewriters, you can even print during the tour.
The museum is interested in expanding the exhibition, so it is open to cooperation. More recently, in April 2012, another room of the museum was replenished with a collection of artifacts related to the development of graphic art, printing and writing history.
