Heraklion

Christian pilgrimage, Orthodox tourism

Description:

A religious pilgrimage is a path to God and to oneself.

People choose pilgrimage, not excursions

Tourist trips in order not only to see the beauty of architecture, to learn the details of the history of a particular area, but also to touch the mystery. An ancient icon on a pilgrimage trip is not an object of art, but a window into the Kingdom of Heaven, an opportunity to feel that you are not alone in this world, that there is the Lord, the Holy Trinity, the Mother of God, the saints of the Orthodox Church. Traveling to holy places is always the way to yourself. For the best that is in us, for the spark of God. People have always wanted to see holy places with their own eyes.

Who goes on pilgrimage trips? People like you and me! Pensioners and newlyweds, students and teachers, workers of creative and technical specialties ... people of different ages and occupations.

Minimum requirements that must be observed during the trip:

  • Men should remove their headdresses when entering the temple or simply on the territory of the monastery, and women, on the contrary, should wear a headscarf.
  • The woman in the temple and monastery should wear a skirt. If you prefer trousers, you can simply wrap around the waist a large handkerchief or a piece of cloth (usually they are issued at the entrance to the monastery, but just in case it is better to take with you).
  • No one is forcing you to pray or express your religious feelings in any other way. However, the faith of other pilgrims must be respected.

We invite you to combine
