The Lion Fountain is located in a wonderful country – in Greece, in an equally wonderful city – Heraklion. This fountain also has a name such as the “Morosini Fountain”. Everyone who visited Heraklion should see this fountain with their own eyes!

The construction of the fountain "Lion" occurred in 1682, his client was Francesco Morosini, from where the second name of the fountain came. At the very top is a statue of the god Poseidon with a trident and real marble, and the base was decorated with scenes from Greek myths.

Getting to this attraction is quite simple. From the embankment you need to go to the city center along the street on August 25, if, passing by you see the Cathedral of St. Titus, then you go in the right direction, then go to Venizelos Square, in the center of which the long-awaited fountain will wait for you!
