Nikos Kazantzaki Museum

The Nikos Kazantzakis Museum, founded in 1984, is dedicated to the work of this famous Greek writer, poet and philosopher. He is located in the village of Murtiya near his father's house, 20 kilometers south of the town of Heraklion.

In the collection of the museum you can see some of the personal belongings of the writer: a smoking pipe, glasses, pens and other items. The museum boasts a rich collection of his manuscripts, letters, documents from theatrical productions of his works and a gallery of portraits of Nikos Kazantzakis.

Here you can see the first Greek editions of his books, watch copies of films based on the novels of the writer and read many articles and press releases about the life and work of the writer.
