Meteora – monasteries on the rocks: excursion from Thessaloniki

Excursion to Meteora is a unique monastery complex located on the tops of high cliffs and included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.

During the tour you will visit the existing Orthodox monasteries, learn about the history of their foundation, the features of monastic life and the significance of this place for the Orthodox world.

What awaits you:

A visit to 1-2 active monasteries of Meteor is an acquaintance with the architecture and history of monastic life.

Panoramic views of rock formations - stops at observation decks for photos and rest.

There is a breakfast stop at the foot of Mount Olympus.

There is also a time for lunch at a traditional Greek tavern in the village. The average cost of lunch is 20-30 euros per person (meat kitchen).

Departure from Thessaloniki is carried out no later than 08:00, return - approximately by 18:00.

Entrance tickets to the monasteries are paid separately and are 5 euros per person for each monastery visited.

Comfortable shoes are recommended, as well as appropriate clothing for visiting active monasteries (closed shoulders and knees).
