Night Liturgy at the Meteor Monastery

I want to offer you an extraordinary trip to Meteora! This is a trip with the aim of visiting not just monasteries, but a visit to the morning service in Meteor Monastery, which begins at 5 am and lasts 3 hours. After the service, the monks will treat us to morning brewed coffee, after which you can ask your questions or ask for their advice with a blessing.

The day will be the most memorable for you.

This service can go not only men (as in Athos), but also women. But on this trip there is no possibility to take children, because it is not idle entertainment, but a visit to the service in a closed monastery, where the service is conducted by monks.

So, my friends...

Departure will be overnight, around 1 a.m. After the service and this monastery, we will visit 1 more monastery and an icon painting workshop. On the way to Meteora, we will make 1 stop with you. The road from Thessaloniki with a stop takes 3 hours maximum. On the way to Meteora you will sleep, but on the way back you will see the most famous peak in the world! Of course, this is Olympus, we drive through the tunnels, along the way we will see the Tembian gorge. There is the church of St. Paraskeva. You can visit it (by talking in advance). We also cross the city of Larissa, the Fisalian valley.

Meteora is the place where the hands of man and the power of God met.

The monasteries are protected by UNESCO. They are the pride of our country and the heritage of the whole world! And all this beauty, a piece of God, I want to share with you!

We will visit the icon painting workshop. You will see how worldly icon painters create icons, and you can try to apply gold leaf. If you wish, you can order any icon for yourself, of any complexity!

We will stop for your photos wherever you want, we will visit 2 monasteries (and more, for an additional fee). Go down the beautiful serpentine through Kastraki (village) in Kalambaku. We'll stop for lunch and eat the most delicious lamb! And homemade country wine! And then back home!) I promise to carry you with interesting stories, but I also promise that I will not be boring and annoying! I am waiting for you, new acquaintances and impressions.
