Holy Trinity Monastery
Description:
The monastic center of Meteora was formed around the X century, and since that time its existence has not been interrupted. The center includes six active monasteries belonging to the Orthodox Church.
They are located on the tops of truly amazing rocks, whose height reaches 600 meters above sea level. These rocks, formed more than 60 million years ago, are a truly unique geological phenomenon.
The architectural complex now includes a chapel, a balcony castle, an altar, as well as cells of monks. The central cathedral dedicated to the Holy Trinity is the pearl of the complex. The open balcony offers stunning views of the neighboring rocks and located on them.
