History of Rhodes from the Neolithic Age at the Archaeological Museum

The Archaeological Museum of Rhodes takes you on a fascinating journey through the history of the island and all of Greece – from the Neolithic to the Middle Ages. The museum is located in the building of the Knights Hospital and tells about how a man came to the island, how civilizations developed and how the Crusaders learned to control people.

The exhibition takes visitors to the era of the Minotaur and the Trojan War, showing how some civilizations passed into the past and others were born again. You will see the history of Greece, told through pottery and sculpture, jewelry and mosaics, as well as get acquainted with the ancient Greek way of life, architecture, secrets of technology and cultural ties of different peoples - all through the prism of unique museum artifacts.
