Pirate tour of the island of Rhodes: all attractions in one tour

Description:

The maximum acquaintance with Rhodes in one day is a tour that combines history and myths, traditions and gastronomy, natural beauty and religious monuments. You will find a rich route, where the “bare truth” is intertwined with the “sweet lies”, and legends – with the real events of the island.

Our journey begins with a visit to the Monastery of the Virgin Tsambika, where we will get acquainted with the traditions associated with the miraculous image of the Mother of Christ. Then we will go to the city of Lindos, where you will hear about its history, legends and the cult of the goddess Athena Lindska.

The next stop will be the Kiss of the Two Seas - Prasonisi, where you can take picturesque photos and swim simultaneously in the Aegean and Mediterranean seas.

The knightly fortress of Monolith will reveal the secrets of medieval Rhodes and its knightly past, and the views from its walls will be an excellent reason for photos.

We will continue the route along the slopes of Mount Akramitis with a stop in the village of Siana. Here we will visit the church of St. Panteleimon, where the local priest will hold a small prayer service with the removal of particles of the relics of the saint. And the village will delight us with gastronomic delights: olive oil, fragrant honey and olives, produced by locals for centuries, as well as traditional “stifado”, prepared according to a family recipe.

The picturesque road along the slopes of Mount Attaviros will lead us to the Gorge of Alphemen, the son of the Cretan king Minos and the brother of the Minotaur. The tale of Alphemen allows you to see how closely myth and history intertwine, and the gorge will give stunning photos against the background of a colorful geological landscape.

Next we will find the village of Embona, where we will get acquainted with the wine traditions of Rhodes and taste local wines right at the winery.

Mount of the Prophet Elijah will open views of Italian Rhodes and Dacha Mussolini, and the miniature church of Fundukli with its frescoes will tell about the difficult everyday life of medieval Europe. We will also stop by the fountain with the endemic Gisagna fish to discuss the natural features of the island.

The tour will end with the Valley of 7 Sources – here you can walk through the tunnel, learn the legends of the Nymphs, try to rejuvenate in the springs and hear the whole “bare truth” about this place.
