Church of the Twelve Apostles

The Church of the Holy Apostles in Thessaloniki was built in the form of a cross-domed basilica. Its dome is supported by 4 arches. The perimeter of the church is surrounded by a gallery with chapels at its eastern ends. In the altar part of the church there are rooms for the deacon and altar.

In the church you can see frescoes depicting scenes from the life of the Virgin and frescoes of one of the aisles with scenes from the life of John the Baptist, as well as mosaics that adorn the arches of the temple, walls and dome.

The Church of the Holy Apostles is located at the very beginning of Olympus Street. You can get there by bus number 50. The beginning and end of the route is the White Tower.
