Ataturk Museum in Thessaloniki

75, Apostolou Pavlou St, Thessaloniki, Macedonia, Greece

About the company:

Ataturk’s Birthplace (or Ataturk Museum), located in Greek Thessaloniki, is the place where the founder of the modern state of Turkey Kemal-Mustafa Ataturk was born and spent most of his childhood. The building is located in the center of the city, now it houses the Turkish Consulate, but at the same time the house functions as a museum of the great politician. The three-storey building itself belongs to the number of ancient city buildings, its owners have preserved the authentic atmosphere and interiors that existed under Ataturk.

It was here that Kemal-Mustafa Atatürk was born in 1881, where the worldview and freedom-loving character of the future leader of democratic Turkey were formed. In 1981, the house was restored, repainting it in the original pastel pink color. The exposition of the museum contains personal belongings of the politician – clothes, household items, dining utensils, as well as numerous documents related to the name of Ataturk. The pomegranate tree planted once by Kemal Ataturk’s father in the courtyard of the house is still pleasing to the eye.
