The monastery "Spiliotissa" is located in the north of the island of Zakynthos, near the village of Ortonis, next to the cave in which the monk Ioanikos Copsidas found the icon of the Mother of God.
The monastery was built around the XVI century, it is surrounded by the amazing beauty of nature, various types of lush vegetation and forests, both olive and pine. Every year, on September 9, the locals of the village of Ortonis organize a feast in honor of the Mother of God.
Unfortunately, access to the monastery is closed to visitors due to the dilapidated structure, which is under reconstruction, but you can admire the building and take a picture of it.
