Mother's Day in Georgia

Mother's Day...Mother’s Day was established by the first President of Georgia Zviad Gamsakhurdia and in 1991 this decision was legitimized by the Supreme Council of Georgia.

Mother’s Day was supposed to replace International Women’s Day on March 8 in Georgia, but both holidays are still celebrated in Georgia.

At the same time, there is no “male” day in the Georgian holiday calendar.
