Borjomi

Borjomi - a source of mineral waters

Description:

According to an old Georgian legend, the name of the village of Borjomi came from two words – “borzh” (fortress wall) and “omi” (war). Previously, they fought often, and the village of Borjomi was conveniently located in the gorge. The mountains around it became the fortress wall, and watchtowers were built on the slopes of the gorge. The main attraction of these places is the mineral water "Borjomi". Borjomi is a mineral water of volcanic origin, which by natural standards is more than 1500 years old. On the surface of the earth it falls from a depth of 8-10 km, pushed by natural carbon dioxide. Unlike many other hydrocarbonate sodium mineral waters, Borjomi does not have time to cool underground and comes to the surface warm (38-41 ° C), “on the way” enriched with a composition of 60 different minerals found in the rocks of the Caucasus Mountains. The excursion program includes a visit to the mineral water source, a beautiful park, travel by cable car and a visit to the church of Seraphim of Sarov.
