Holy Trinity Monastery

The Georgian Monastery of the Holy Trinity is located in an amazing place at an altitude of 2,170 meters at the foot of Mount Kazbek. According to legend, once before the shepherds appeared the Most Holy Mother of God and ordered to build a temple on this place. The people obeyed her and began to build a temple, but they did not have enough stones, and when they woke up, the builders saw that the temple was completely completed.

The monastery was built around the X century. In the temple there is an iconostasis of the VI century, which depicts St. Nina. The preserved chronicle contains information about the preservation of spiritual values of Georgia at the time of the Persian invasion.
In the temple is the Gergetsk Icon of the Mother of God, written in the XVII century. The monks say that she works miracles and gives healing. Pilgrims from all over the world go to pray before this icon.

How to get there: Fly by plane to Tbilisi or Kutaisi, and then go by car to Gudauri. From Tbilisi to Gudauri 120 km can be driven in 2 hours.
