The history of one of the most respected monasteries is associated with such historical figures as Andrew the First-Called, the Great Czar David the Builder, Queen Tamar, Prince Dadiani and Chikovani, Ekaterina Chavchavadze (sister Nino Chavchavadze-Griboyedova).
Then we go to Martvili Canyon (Gachedili). This is a unique place with cascading waterfalls, where paleontologists have discovered traces of prehistoric animals.
Here for you will arrange a light rafting on the river Abasha in the canyon, between the limestone rocks. After rafting, we will go to tea plantations.
The climate of Martvil district is ideal for tea growing.
