River Debed
Description:
The Debed River is located in the central part of Georgia, and flows into the Kura River. It is a tributary of Kura, but its length is slightly longer. The river originates in Kartli and crosses the border with Azerbaijan near Kutaisi. In length, it is inferior to Kura almost twice, since its banks are covered with dense forest. From the source to the mouth, it is laid through mountain ranges and valleys. But in the upper reaches of the river Debed flows on the plain. In these places, it cuts through forests, as well as rocky landscapes of mountains. Due to the fact that the river valley is very deep, there is a possibility of waterfalls. This leads to the formation of many sources that flow into the water. The waters of Debed are used by locals to water their gardens. In addition, in its waters there are many trout, perch and sturgeon. Fishermen come to the river for fishing. On the banks there are many boarding houses and rest houses that are ready to receive tourists.
