The Georgian Military Road is one of the most beautiful roads in the Caucasus. This is not just a 208 km long highway connecting Russia with Georgia, leading from Vladikavkaz to Tbilisi – this is a real historical route. On this road to the Caucasus in search of the muse traveled famous Russian writers.
Programme
- Zhinvali Reservoir is a mountain reservoir with water of turquoise color. It performs an important function: water supply of Tbilisi.
- Ananuri. Ananuri Fortress is the oldest fortress of the XVI century, the residence of Aragva Eristavs.
- Pasanauri is the birthplace of Khinkali, also here we can enjoy the view of the confluence of two rivers: black and white Aragvi.
- Gudauri is a ski resort that is located at an altitude of 2196 meters.
- Arch of friendship of peoples; observation deck.
- The Cross Pass is the highest point of the Georgian Military Road (2388 m).
- Stepantsminda (Kazbegi) - climb to the temple of Gergeti, which rises on the hill of the village of Gergeti, at the mark of 2170 m at the foot of Mount Kazbegi.
