One-day tour to Kakheti

A diverse and full of excursions, the program will take you to the capital of Kakheti Telavi and the legendary Chavchavadze estate in Tsinandali with an English park and wine cellar; the city of love Signahi and the Bodbe monastery. You will be fascinated by medieval architecture, Georgian nature and of course wine – one of the main riches of Georgia.

In Telavi, the legendary film Mimino was filmed, in which the monument to Heraclius II was captured. Walk through the historic part of the city. Departure from Telavi to Tsinandali, where the residence of Prince Chavchavadze, father-in-law of Russian writer Alexander Griboyedov, is located. The estate is rich in luxurious English park and collections of the oldest wines of Georgia: in the cellars of Tsinandali wines of the 40s of the 19th century are stored. Continue the way to the city of Sikhnagi, surrounded by a fortress wall with 23 towers, which in the Middle Ages was one of the most important trading points on the Great Silk Road. Walk around the city, return to Tbilisi. If time permits, on the way stop at the Bodbe monastery complex, where, according to legend, St. George is buried. Nino brought Christianity to Georgia in the fourth century. By decree of Emperor Alexander III since 1889 Bodbe functions as a convent. Arrival in Tbilisi. End of tour.
