Sololaki - ephemeral beauty
Description:
Walk around Sololaki: Bourgeois Tiflis, a district created in the XIX century
This is another unique shade in the Tbilisi kaleidoscope of incredibly beautiful places. This is probably why it is called Tbilisi Paris.
Sololaki was built exclusively as a residential area, and today it can no doubt be called a treasury of local architecture of the XIX century. It was in this area that merchants and nobles built their luxurious houses and mansions.
Sololaki is a place where the romance of the XIX century and the desire of the human soul for perfection come to life. Here you can escape from the daily bustle and be transported to the charm of past times, enjoying the beauty that was once a reflection of the soul of these people.
During the tour, we will get acquainted with the architectural diversity of that short, but surprisingly beautiful era – with spacious front rooms with their magnificent skillfully executed stairs and paintings on walls and ceilings. We will see the residential house of the Seylanov brothers, who ran a successful tobacco business and owned ten houses in Tbilisi, the “Italian Villa”, built for the Milov brothers, who had a thriving fish business in Transcaucasia. The house where the Siemens brothers lived, the house where the great Russian composer P. I. Tchaikovsky stayed.
We will see the house-museum of D. Saradzhishvili, the founder of the first brandy production in Transcaucasia. His company received the title of "Supplier of the Court of His Imperial Majesty". We will see the once beautiful home of Mirza Reza Khan, an Iranian consul in Georgia at the end of the XIX century and at the same time a gifted architect ... and much more, and take many beautiful photos for memory.
