Tbilisi

Tbilisi – review and old capital of Georgia

Description:

Excursion "Journey through the eras of Georgia"

This tour is specially designed for those who come to Georgia for a few days and want to see as much as possible.

I propose to make an exciting journey through the eras of the country, having visited its current and first capitals - Tbilisi and Mtskheta.

Tbilisi is the heart of modern Georgia

First of all, we will go to Tbilisi, where during a walking tour you will get acquainted with the key sights of the city and hear its rich history.

Then we will be in the area of sulfur baths. You will learn the legend of the foundation of Tiflis, hear about the origins of the city and famous personalities who visited the baths. And we will also find a waterfall right in the heart of the capital!

Mtskheta – the spiritual capital of the country

After that, we will head north to Mtskheta, which is often called the soul of Georgia and its “altar”.

We will delve into the history of Christianity to better understand the culture of the country. Visit the ancient monastery of Jvari, admire the picturesque landscapes and see the confluence of the rivers Kura and Aragvi.

Perhaps, like Lermontov, you will be inspired by these views and write your own version of “Mtsyri”.

Then we go down to the monastery of Svetitskhoveli – a place with a surprisingly rich history. How many events do your walls remember? Today there are great relics of Christianity.

Gory (optional)

If desired, we will visit Stalin’s hometown – Gori. In the museum you will see personal belongings, gifts and furniture of the leader, as well as the famous armored car.

Uplistsikhe - 40 centuries of history

Ready to go back 40 centuries? Then we go to explore the cave city of Uplistsikhe.

You will learn how people lived in ancient times, get acquainted with the pagan past of Georgia, explore the living quarters and find the remains of the ancient theater.

Conclusion of the tour

At the end of the tour, we will go to the restaurant of national cuisine, where you will find a delicious and fragrant dinner.

The architecture of the building resembles the village of Robin Hood, and some tables are located directly on the trees.
