Tusheti's wild mountains
Description:
Tusheti are low mountains in Georgia. They're also called wild. The fact is that the carcasses, although baptized, keep faithfulness to paganism. The locals call themselves Georgian Indians. As a hundred years ago, the residents’ dinner is held with kerosene lamps, they bake bread themselves, knock down cheese and butter in barrels, horses are replaced by cars.
Since 2003, the Tusheti Mountains have had the status of a "National Park". In general, the nature of Tushetia is special, it stands out even among the unique Georgian landscapes. Those who have visited the mountains of Tushetia say that you are here as if you were in some other world. Here mixed hills, slopes of rocks, dense coniferous forests and alpine meadows. And all these are Tushetia Mountains. By the way, it was here that the famous film Mimino was shot.
It's hard to get to Tushetia. This is one of the most inaccessible Georgian areas and the most remote. There is one road here, which is often closed due to the rains, and you can still walk from Khevsureti. To Tushetia from central Georgia can be accessed only through the Abano pass.
