Metekhi Church in Georgia (Tbilisi) is better known as the Church of the Assumption of the Most Holy Virgin, subordinate to the Georgian Orthodox Church and located on a rock above the river waters of the Kura. One of the well-known and popular tourist "business cards" of the capital is a protected state cultural monument.
The earliest mentions of Metekha date back to the 12th century. Near the Orthodox Georgian temple there was an ancient castle and fortifications, which, unfortunately, have not survived to this day. The coordinates of the Metec temple are 41.926164 and 44.338799.
