Nekresi Monastery

The ancient monastery of Nekresi is located in Kakheti. Tourists are delighted with the landscapes around the monastery, and the monastery itself is admired even more.
Even before our era at the foot of the monastery there was a large city. There is a legend that once Muslims wanted to destroy the monastery, and its ministers surrounded the Church of the Virgin with pig carcasses and Muslims categorically refused to enter it. And still on Orthodox holidays it is customary to cook pork barbecue here.
You can come to the monastery of Neukresi from Tbilisi by bus. You can go to Kvareli or to Gremi. From both points you only need to take a taxi.
