Poti seaport
Georgia, Poti, David Agmashenebeli Street, No. 52
Description:
Currently, Georgia has two ports for international cargo transportation on the Black Sea coast: Batumi and Poti. A third deep-water port in Anaklia is under construction.
The small seaport of Poti is located in the west of Georgia. Due to its location between Europe and Asia, Georgia for centuries, located between the two ridges of the Greater and Lesser Caucasus, was considered a transport corridor between the Black and Caspian seas. The route through Georgia was an offshoot of the Great Silk Road, which not only consists of one route, but also represents a bunch of connections.
The port of Poti can be reached by ship or ferry across the Black Sea from countries such as Bulgaria, Ukraine and Turkey, Russia.
A new sea terminal is being built in the port, thanks to which the port will be able to receive 2.5 million tons of cargo per year more. The first phase of construction will be completed in September-October 2021. APM Terminals Poti achieved high performance in cargo handling and improved operational performance. All this has been achieved through equipment upgrades.
