Lake Tabatskuri

Lake Tabatskuri, one of the deepest and most beautiful bodies of water in all of Georgia, is located between Borjomi and Akhalkalaki in the Samtskhe-Javakheti region. The water surface of Tabatskuri extends in the mountains at an altitude of almost 2 thousand meters. On one of the banks of Tabatskuri there is a village of the same name, whose residents drink water from the reservoir, fish and catch crayfish. You can swim in the lake.

Tabatskuri is located an hour from the city of Borjomi. You can get to the reservoir in two ways - from Bakuriani and Akhalkalaki. In the first case, after passing Bakuriani, continue on the dirt road. Please note: during the winter months, as well as early spring, this road is blocked. During this period, Tabatskuri can be reached by car from Akhalkalaki.
