Description:

In the Old part of Tbilisi, you should definitely walk Leselidze Street. It stretches from Freedom Square to Vakhtang Gorgasal Square.

In the Middle Ages it was called Shuabazari, which translated from Georgian meant “central bazaar”. The city’s commercial shops were active here. They could buy wine, cheese, fruit, Persian carpets and silk. Here the masters produced coins, shook horses.

In the 19th century it was renamed the Armenian Bazaar. And only after the war it was named after the Hero of the Soviet Union Konstantin Leselidze. At the end of the last century, the street was reconstructed. The movement became one-sided, the sidewalks significantly expanded.
