EasterAlthough the number of Christians in India is about 2.5% of the total population, Easter is celebrated with pomp and religious obsession.

Christians across the country, especially in Mumbai, Goa and the Northeastern states, are carefully preparing for Easter celebrations. Believers attend churches where they offer special prayers and perform certain rituals.

Easter celebration in India began with the colonial enslavement of Britain. Portuguese and French rule also influenced parts of the country.

During Easter, dyed eggs and special buns are sold in shops and believers exchange them with each other, as well as congratulations on the occasion of the holiday.
