Fort Tipu Sultan
Tipu Sultan Fort, Bangalore, Old Town, Karnataka State, India.
Description:
Fort Tipu Sultan (Bangalore), or summer residence of Sultan Tipu, was built in 1971. This one of the main attractions of the Indian state of Karnataka is located on the territory of a fort in Bangalore, in the Old City. The palace is known for its original interior, which preserves the spirit of the time when the Sultan Tipu ruled. This is a real work of art, a true monument of Eastern architecture.
The Sultan called his palace “the envy of heaven.” Tipu Fort (Tipu Palace) is built in a typical Islamic spirit, with many lavishly decorated arches, balconies and columns. The palace is almost entirely made of teak wood and is surrounded by picturesque gardens and minarets, which are carefully maintained.
On the first floor of the palace there is a museum with many ancient relics that date back to the reign of the sultan: documents, paintings and personal belongings of the sultan. And the walls of some interior rooms still please the eye with elegant floral patterns.
