Show me on the map

Description:

The church and monastery of St. Caetana were built by Italian monks from the Order of the Theatine in 1661, modeled on the Basilica of St. Peter in Rome. Externally, it is the most magnificent Christian temple in Goa. It was originally called the Church of Our Lady of Divine Providence. That is why its central altar is dedicated to the Mother of God. The majestic facade of the church is decorated on both sides with bell towers.

To one of the inner columns is attached a wooden pulpit, located on a square platform. There is a well under this platform. It is believed that the temple was built on the site of an ancient Hindu sanctuary, part of which was the source.
