Redy fort
Description:
Redi Fort is an ancient fortification located on the border of the states of Goa and Maharashtra. This is a well-preserved fortress built during the reign of Vijayanagara, although no one will tell you the exact historical dates of its construction and further use.
The fort is framed by powerful walls in several levels, behind them are bastions and other buildings. There is even a deep well, however, dried up. A wide moat around the fortress. The fort is completely overgrown with jungle so that you can be a few steps away from it and think that it is just a hill overgrown with forest. Plants literally permeate buildings – it seems that it is a single organism. Roots and lianas stray along the walls, intertwine with each other, forming bizarre, almost fabulous compositions.
From the battle towers of the abandoned fort stretch branches of strong banyans. The walls with loopholes destroyed by the cores grew with beautiful tropical flowers. The ditches and pits are overgrown with tall grass. There is such peace that the silence is broken only by the singing of birds and the distant noise of the surf.
