Dr. Jack de Sequeira is a figure honored in Goa. He was not only one of the local prominent political leaders, but also fought for the preservation of Goan culture and identity.
A small monument depicting de Sequeira was erected in Calangut, one of the resorts of Goa, in 2007 as a tribute to the man. The doctor is depicted in full growth as a completely ordinary person. There are no pretentious "talking" poses or defiant clothing. The figure stands on a pedestal, dotted with records of the merits of Dr. Jack de Sequeira.
The monument was erected at the expense of the family de Sequeira.
