Description:

Fort Aguada is a fortress that was built in the 17th century. It was built by the Portuguese during Indian colonization. Located near Kandolim beach and is one of the attractions to visit in India. The name is derived from "agua", which translates as "water", Ford includes several buildings, high walls, a moat around them, a large courtyard inside. Its purpose was to protect the shipping lane and the area nearby. Ford was built of red stone, common in this area. The lighthouse in four floors is visible from afar and attracts attention with its unusual shape - in the form of a barrel. But it doesn't work. In the middle of the 20th century there was a prison for political criminals. The heights of the fortification offer a beautiful view of the sea and rocks. Open to the public every day. You can get there by car, taxi or on foot.
