Square of Largo de Igreja

One of the most remarkable places of the city is the Church Square, where the architectural ensemble of Largo da Igreja, symbolizing the era of Portuguese rule, is located. The square itself is a pretty rectangular park in the heart of Panaji, located directly opposite the Ministry of Tourism of India. The main objects here are the Ashoka Column and the Church of the Immaculate Virgin, surrounded by a ridge of slender palm trees.
