Jag Nivas Palace
Brahmpol Rd, Udaipur, Rajasthan, India
Description:
Jag Nivas Palace was built entirely of marble in 1740 and served as a summer residence for the royal family. There were feasts and receptions.
The palace faces the facade to the east - so its inhabitants could pray without returning to the shore. Among the features of the palace are a room of 12 marble blocks, the throne of Shah Jahan carved from monolithic stone and a small mosque.
Currently, the palace has been converted into a luxury hotel, where guests can admire the water surface directly from the window of their room. As in ancient times, Jag Nivas can only be reached by boat.
