Abbasid Palace in Baghdad

Baghdad, Iraq

Description:

The Abbasid Palace in Baghdad is distinguished by the luxury of the facade and gardens on its territory.

According to legends, a tree was built here, the trunk of which was made of gold, and many leaves of pure silver, also on the branches of this tree there were many silver birds. Unfortunately, to this day, this unique tree has not survived, and the once former luxury is evidenced by the impressive size of the ancient stone walls with ornaments of the XII century.

The Abbasid Palace in Baghdad is an architectural masterpiece, on the walls of which you can see drawings and stucco, which is still studied by specialists. Inside the palace there is a special calm and I want to say that everything is calm in Baghdad. But it was not always so and the conduct of many wars in the capital of Iraq, significantly affected most of the historical monuments, but the entire architecture of the palace miraculously preserved almost intact.
