Zikkurat Temple Complex in Ur

Iraq, Urah

Description:

The Ziggurat temple complex in Ur is now most often visited by soldiers from nearby U.S. Ali Air Base.

But it is unlikely that they will be able to appreciate the main sanctuary-temple of the moon god Nannar, of which only a brick foundation and foundation remain. Only for true connoisseurs of the ancient era will be treasures every surviving brick here since about 2047 BC. Here, on one of the upper sites, the priests watched the stars, and could not even imagine that their descendants would very treacherously change the entire architecture of the temple.

Too much has fallen to the share of the memorial construction of perestroika and trials, the last of which distorted beyond recognition the original appearance, which resembled the Tower of Babel described in the Bible.

It is noteworthy that archaeologists found that in the architecture of Zigkurat there was not a single straight line, and this despite the fact that outwardly he created just such an illusion, but on closer observation it became obvious that all the straight lines were actually carefully calculated and artificially created curves.
