Macros House Manor

Ireland, Kerry

Description:

Macros House is an estate in Ireland, located in County Carrie, 6 km from the town of Killarney. The estate is a mansion of the XIX century, located in the center of Killarnia National Park.

The house was built for the Herbert family, not very poor and famous, suffice it to say that in 1861 the Macros estate was visited by Queen Victoria herself.

The palace is built in Victorian style. Construction began in 1839 and completed in 1843. There are only 45 rooms in the building. The main halls are richly decorated in the Tudor style. In 1899, due to financial difficulties, the Herberts sold the house, which, after a while, became the property of Ireland and was in desolation for a long time.

In the 60s of the XX century, after a long restoration, the Marcos estate was opened to visitors, and now it is visited by about 250,000 people annually. To the east of Macros House is Macross Farm, where you can get acquainted with the life of ordinary villagers.

The Macros Pham complex is three separate traditional Irish farms (small, medium and large) with residential and outbuildings, which contain animals, poultry, and where you can see traditional tools and household items of farmers everywhere.
