Kilbrittain Castle
Description:
Kilbrittain Castle is one of the oldest castles in Ireland, built in 1035.
In the Middle Ages, the castle was a powerful fortress - this is evidenced by the preserved stone gates and walls up to two meters thick.
At the bottom of the castle there are semicircular rooms with fireplaces, and on the roof, topped with traditional teeth, you can climb the stone stairs.
Also preserved are the rooms in which there were nurseries, where the famous Irish wolfhounds were kept.
There is now a hotel in Kilbrittain Castle.
