Adair Castle

Main St, Adare, Co. Limerick, Ireland

Description:

Adair Castle is a well-fortified large medieval castle.

This is a classic example of a defensive castle - there are thick walls, dungeons and loopholes. The powerful structure of the castle is surrounded by a moat.

The castle building is interesting for its architecture - there is a rectangular main building, and a round watch and defensive tower, many balconies, roofs with classic teeth and a large number of spires. The entrance to the castle is made in the form of an arch and is closed by a retractable gate.

Adair Castle is qualitatively restored and at the moment its appearance almost corresponds to the original.
