Spouse's Day in Iceland

Description:

Husbands are surrounded by honor and attention
Around this day, according to the ancient Icelandic calendar, the harsh winter month of Torrey began. In different parts of Iceland, different customs developed about which spouse should call and appease the new month, but most (led by the folklorist I. Arasson) believe that it is the husband's duty.

As usual, the owner had to get up neither light nor dawn and in one leg, jumping on one leg, describe a circle around the estate, chanting greeting Torrey. It is not surprising that the priests of the time mentioned this ritual with particular disdain.

Now it is rare to find an Icelander who thoroughly fulfills the ancient custom: but the day, as before, is called the day of the spouse. And for the male part of the population, this means (double) coffee in bed, and often flowers from a wife or girlfriend. Women strive to pay as much attention as possible to their soul mate, not only fulfilling, but also anticipating the desires of their beloved.

If you were waiting for a reason to please your beloved man, know that he has come.
