Barnaphoss Waterfall
Barnaphos Falls is located in Husafetle National Park
Description:
Barnaphos Waterfall ("Children's Falls") is located in Husafetle National Park. This waterfall owes its name to a tragic story that happened many, many years ago.
On the farm Hrauná s lived a rich widow. She had two young children. During the Christmas holidays, all adults went to evening services in Gilsbucky, and the children were left at home to play.
When the adults returned home, the children were not home. Their footprints led to a stone arch carved with water in the rock, which stretched over the river, but on the other side of the traces were no longer found.
Their mother destroyed the arch and cursed the place of their fall. Later, in memory of her children, the woman donated her farm to a church in Reyholt.
