Good Friday

Description:

Good Friday.
Good Friday is celebrated on the Thursday before Easter. This is one of the most important Christian holidays dedicated to the memory of the death of Jesus Christ on the cross, the removal of his body from the cross and the burial.

Great Friday and Saturday are the only two days in the Catholic liturgy calendar when there is no mass, as these days are the mourning of Christ’s death.

This holiday is widely celebrated throughout Spain. In each region there is something different, but everywhere it is characterized by numerous processions, some of which are theatrical. Some represent the complete history of Christ (for example, the Main Procession of the Tortures of the Savior in Valladolid - la Procesion General de la Pasion del Redentor de Valladolid).

Of course, this day is an official state holiday throughout the country.
