Montserrat is an unusual and very beautiful mountain retreat of Benedictine monks. Located in the north of Spain, about 60 km from Barcelona. The height of the mountain range is 1236 meters, length is 10 km, and width is 5 km. The mountain range is so unusual that it simultaneously causes delight and awe. In many religions, this shrine is a symbol of the presence of the divine principle. In the XI century a Benedictine monastery was built on the tops of Mount Montserrat. The main relic of the monastery is the statue of the Holy Virgin or the Black Virgin, so it is called because of the dark color of her face. Millions of pilgrims from all over the world flock to touch the Holy of Holies – the Madonna of Montserrat and make their cherished wish. Her miraculous power is legendary throughout the Christian world. Also during the service in the monastery, you can hear the famous choir of boys.
Further, on the funicular you can climb to the top of the mountain, from where an unusually beautiful and majestic view of the monastery and the surrounding area opens.
