Barcelona

The charm of the hinterland of Catalonia. Rupit, Besalou and Castelfolite de la Roca

Description:

This tour of Catalonia is rustic, picturesque places of this region, where ordinary Catalans live. When coming to Barcelona, do not limit yourself to exploring the city, look into the villages of Catalonia. You will see how simple and beautiful this place is! You can take sandwiches and have a picnic in Bagnoles, near a small lake, or you can go to a local restaurant and try the local village cuisine.

The proposed restaurant is located in the so-called Sanctuary of El Far. This is an amazing place, located on a rock, with a very tasty and inexpensive lunch.

During the tour, we will visit the wonderful villages of Catalonia and feel the local calorie.

We will visit Rupita, and this is one of the most beautiful villages in Catalonia, located in the foothills of the Pyrenees, and has not changed its appearance for the past 200 or more years. Stone houses, streets paved with stones, small windows with openwork curtains fascinate and carry away in the era of the past. Mountain hills close their vaults around the village creating a green aura of mystery and inaccessibility. There are legends about witches hiding in this village from the Inquisition and it is not surprising. Some of them may have been hidden in the mountains.

We're going to Besala. Historical events, knights, and Jewish settlements take place in this small town with more than two centuries of history.

And Castelfolite de la Roca. An exclusive and picturesque place, the village is located on a basalt rock with a steep and very beautiful cliff drawn by different artists many times. The 50-meter cliff is very colorful in the “cut”, which attracts both tourists and artists. Photos taken on its background are very colorful and impressionable. So it is impossible to miss it in any way, although it is also not worth staying long.
