On the embankment of Barcelona is one of the largest modern underwater parks in Europe - the Aquarium of Barcelona. It presents about 11,000 representatives of underwater fauna. The aquarium consists of several water tanks, holding almost 6 million liters of water. The largest of them is an 80-meter underwater tunnel where visitors can watch fish and marine animals while standing on a moving path. The Aquarium opened in 1995 and has since been visited by more than 14 million people.
